I've been there! Yeah, Christ of the Deep is cool and all, but it's only like 20' down. Now the Buddha of the Abyss sits in 120', that's a statue! Of course the Buddha was an accident and not nearly as popular. The story goes that someone ordered this great solid brass Buddha, but a rough storm caused it to go overboard (not clear whether it was dumped for ballast or accidental). Eventually, a few divers found it laying on it's side way down deep off the gulf coast. They used a couple lift bags to tip it upright and bragged to their friends.
